Gospel Rap recording artist Justin Crowder aka Jay Crowder formerly King Knuck, was born in Dallas, Texas in the early 80's. He was born during a time when single mothers struggled to take care of their families. Although these times were difficult, Jay Crowder along with his two brothers was raised by a strong black woman his mother and his grandparents.  While overcoming many financial obstacles in his adolescent stages, Jay Crowder decided to participate in sports in order to keep himself away from the street life. By the age of 17, his mother could no longer protect him from learning the hard way. Jay Crowder found himself  involved within the crowd. This experience took him down a dark road that only God, the Most High could bring him out of.

 

   This lead to Jay Crowder's path way to recording hardcore hip hop music on cassette tapes. He was influenced by many rappers and didn't realize that the dangerous lifestyle that he was embracing would almost cost him his life. Little did he know, this was the beginning of something special.  While eventually escaping death traps in his early 20's, the struggles lead to his spiritual encounter with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. 

 

Jay Crowder is now putting all his energy into kingdom building by way of his music ministry Christ Convicted Ministries. While still working to master his gift, Jay Crowder has created hit albums such as Ambassadors 4 Christ (2012) (w/ Optimo & King Knuck) and Menace to Minister (2014). Jay Crowder formerly known as King Knuck currently has a new project entitled Of The Redeemed and Staying Obedient.

 

Jay Crowder would like his relationship with God to grow closer and remain a more positive influence to the youth as well as his peers. Jay Crowder hopes also to continue on making strides towards fulfilling his purpose in life, music and taking care of his family. His efforts are focused on continuing to be an impact on people from different walks of life who are looking for ways to live a more meaningful, holy life through the gospel of Jesus Christ.
